Entertainment Value

We have satellite TV at our house, and I have been hungry for some good Biblical doctrinal teaching, so I search for shows under “religion.”  I see Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Rod Parsley, TBN, Creflo Dollar, and on and on.  Apparently, people would rather hear that “Jesus will make you rich” then what the Bible actually says.  I couldn’t find a SINGLE reformed program- no John MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, John Piper, etc.  NONE! 

So apparently what attracts lost people is telling them what Jesus will do for them instead of what he demands from them.  So many people are going to stand before a righteous, holy God and hear “depart from Me, I never knew you.”  These false teachers are going to be accountable to God for leading so many people astray.  American Christianity has watered down the Gospel and turned a God-centered salvation into a wretched man-centered poor excuse for theology.

I’m upset.  But I know that God is allowing me to be upset for a reason- to give me an even greater hunger for the truth of the Bible.
